Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients by reviewing medical histories and performing various assessments to identify movement limitations and rehabilitation goals.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on evaluation findings, continually adapting these plans as patients progress or as conditions change.
• Educate patients and their families about evaluation results and the proposed treatment plans, encouraging active participation in their own recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all patient care activities, including initial assessments, daily encounter notes, and discharge evaluations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary, updating them on patient conditions and progress, and referring patients to specialists when appropriate.
• Engage in discharge planning and provide clear follow-up care instructions to optimize continued recovery.
• Participate in hospital and community outreach programs to promote physical therapy services and enhance accessibility.
• Maintain a well-organized schedule and demonstrate effective time management in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Contribute to departmental objectives by participating in quality assurance activities and helping in the development of new protocols aimed at improving patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will work predominantly with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Your expertise will help patients regain strength, flexibility, and mobility, enabling them to return to their daily activities and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Active state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Current American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a rapport with patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

The competitive salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
