Mind and Behaviour Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. This is a remote position that operates within an outpatient counseling facility. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and maintain accurate documentation from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring that all client records are up to date.

• Assess and evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, utilizing a variety of diagnostic tools and interviews to inform treatment decisions.

• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, considering each client's unique needs and challenges.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open discussion, skill development, and emotional expression.
\n
• Track and monitor client progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, healthcare providers, and community resources to create comprehensive intervention strategies that best meet client needs.

• Participate in follow-ups with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care.

• Assist clients’ family members and primary caregivers in understanding mental health challenges and implementing effective strategies for support and recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from various backgrounds and demographics, providing you the opportunity to engage with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will provide meaningful care to both adults and children, ensuring that the therapeutic interventions respect each client's cultural and personal values.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
\n
• Success in passing the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with proficiency in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure efficient and effective client documentation.
\n
• A strong understanding of the impact of physical health issues and addiction disorders on mental health.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in outpatient mental health settings and familiarity with collaborative practices among healthcare professionals.

• Knowledge of the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical specialists and their implications for therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, reflecting your qualifications and experience.
