Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients with substance use disorders to determine their specific treatment needs and goals.

• Provide individual counseling sessions using motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy methods to empower clients in their recovery journey.

• Engage in collaborative practices with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, well-coordinated care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be primarily working with individuals grappling with substance use disorders, ranging from mild dependence to severe addiction. The patient population may also include their families, who often play a pivotal role in their recovery process. Your ability to relate with empathy and understand the multifaceted challenges faced by both clients and their families will be critical in fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, LCSW-R), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York State.

• Strong understanding of substance use disorders, recovery-oriented care practices, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Proficient experience in facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions in the context of addiction treatment.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a non-judgmental, empathetic demeanor, crucial for building rapport with clients.

• Ability to maintain strict professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines while ensuring client confidentiality.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools for effective case documentation and management.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of direct practice experience in substance use disorder treatment is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
