Work Environment\n

This remote role allows for flexibility while upholding the standards of providing mental health support in educational settings. You will participate in virtual meetings with school staff and parents, leveraging technology to maintain strong, collaborative relationships. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on the needs of your patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the unique needs of students, developing individualized treatment plans that address specific concerns.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to deliver impactful interventions.

• Facilitate psychoeducational group sessions and support groups that enable students and families to discuss their mental health challenges in a safe and supportive environment.

• Collaborate closely with school educators, psychologists, and administrative staff to provide coordinated care and support for the student population.

• Offer crisis intervention services as needed, providing support during mental health emergencies in a timely and effective manner.

• Educate students, parents, and the school community about mental health issues, treatment resources, and coping strategies.

• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and interventions accurately while adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Biomedica, you will primarily work with students facing a multitude of mental health challenges, as well as their families. Our diverse client population includes children and adolescents from various backgrounds, representing a range of socio-economic situations and cultural perspectives. Your role will play a crucial part in addressing their unique mental health needs and fostering resilience.

Qualifications\n

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Current professional licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and experience with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Strong skills in conducting assessments and creating effective treatment plans tailored to individuals in the educational system.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff.

Compensation and Benefits\n
