Work Environment

The work setting is an outpatient office where therapists engage directly with patients in a supportive and dynamic environment. The operating hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, allowing a consistent and predictable schedule for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care to patients by developing individualized treatment programs based on their specific needs, goals, and physical assessments.
• Deliver expert orthopedic care by utilizing a variety of modalities, focusing on both therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques.
• Maintain a manageable caseload, allowing for thorough evaluations and consistent monitoring of each patient's progress.
• Educate patients on rehabilitation strategies and home exercise programs to reinforce progress and motivate them throughout their recovery journey.
• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that integrate various treatment options, emphasizing non-surgical approaches to enhance recovery.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans through the use of EMR software, particularly Web PT, for compliance and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
• Continuously assess and adapt treatment approaches based on the ongoing evaluation of patient progress and feedback.
• Promote health and wellness by encouraging strength, flexibility, and coordination through tailored fitness plans.
• Stay current with professional development, incorporating evidence-based practices into treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals dealing with orthopedic injuries, postoperative recovery needs, and those requiring rehabilitation from sports-related conditions. You will work with diverse age groups, tailoring your approach to each patient's specific circumstances. Your role is crucial not only in restoring mobility but also in empowering patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Virginia with no history of sanctions or board actions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in a range of manual therapy techniques and exercise program development.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Web PT, preferred.
• Current knowledge of physical therapy techniques and methodologies supported by research.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Background in sports medicine or related rehabilitation environments.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment protocols and methods in physical therapy.
