Work Environment

This position is onsite within our modern rehabilitation center located in Edison, NJ. With a focus on orthopedic outpatient services, you will be part of a dedicated team that includes two physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant (PTA). Our operational hours run from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, allowing for a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities, limitations, and goals.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific patient needs and facilitate recovery.
• Manage a caseload of one patient per hour, ensuring personalized attention and care during each session.
• Employ evidence-based interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities, to improve patients' mobility and strength.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes diligently in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Educate patients about injuries, rehabilitation processes, and lifestyle modifications that support recovery and prevent further injury.
• Motivate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive therapeutic relationship.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and optimize outcomes.
• Regularly assess and adjust treatment programs based on patients' progress and feedback.
• Stay updated on current physical therapy practices and integrate innovative techniques into treatment protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice predominantly serves patients with orthopedic conditions, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of individuals, tailoring your approach to meet various ages and needs. This role is pivotal in reducing patients' dependency on medication and invasive procedures, thus significantly improving their quality of life through rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
• A clean professional record with no history of disciplinary actions against the license.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and various therapeutic modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient engagement.
• Ability to utilize EMR software, particularly WebPT, for documentation and patient tracking.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic outpatient settings, particularly with diverse patient cases.
• A proven track record of developing successful exercise protocols tailored to individual needs.
• Familiarity with current trends in physical therapy techniques and evidence-based practices.
