Full-Time Nurse Practitioner - School-Based Health Services

Position Overview

Wide Stream Pain Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in Buffalo, New York. This full-time position offers the chance to work directly within a school setting, providing essential healthcare services to students. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of patient care activities aimed at improving health outcomes, while working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including board-certified physicians specializing in cardiology.

Work Environment

This position is based in a school facility in Buffalo, where you will be interacting with a diverse population of students. The onsite setting allows for immediate response to health issues that arise during school hours, providing a critical link to educational success and overall wellbeing. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturday coverage as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ physical and mental health, identifying normal and abnormal findings.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, regularly reassessing the effectiveness of these plans and making adjustments as necessary.
• Evaluate patient responses to medications and treatments, ensuring safe and effective use of prescribed therapies.
• Administer immunizations according to recommended schedules, maintaining accurate records of patient immunization status.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, school staff, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and achieve optimum health outcomes for students.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Engage in educational initiatives within the school to promote health literacy, providing training and resources to staff and students about managing cardiovascular risks and overall health maintenance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents, addressing their unique health issues, including those related to cardiovascular health. As a Nurse Practitioner in this environment, you will play a crucial role in identifying and managing health concerns early, contributing to better long-term health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred, with a strong emphasis on cardiology.
• Experience working in school health settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable effective communication with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 160,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
