Work Environment\n

This position is designed for remote work, enabling you to create a balanced work-life environment while contributing to a supportive team. You will have the flexibility to manage your schedule, with core hours set from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some adaptations in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate patients’ needs, ensuring that you can provide the highest level of care without compromising your well-being.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ histories and determine effective treatment approaches.

• Design and implement tailored treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions focused on processing trauma, developing coping strategies, and fostering healing.
\n
• Lead group therapy sessions aimed at building a supportive community for patients, helping them to share their experiences and learn from each other.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and effective support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stabilization.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to enhance their understanding of the healing process.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed practices.

• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually enhance your therapeutic skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with individuals who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and other trauma-related conditions. Our patient population consists of adults and adolescents, many of whom have unique and challenging backgrounds. As a therapist, your role will be crucial in providing the understanding, empathy, and specialized care required to support their recovery journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.

• Strong aptitude for maintaining composure in high-stress situations, providing calm and effective support to patients during crises.

• Technological proficiency, especially with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience providing trauma-focused therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
