Licensed Mental Health Therapist - Substance Use Disorder Specialist

We are searching for a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist with expertise in addressing substance use disorders to join our team at Lively Mental Health and Behavioral Center. In this fulfilling full-time, remote position, you will guide clients towards recovery and resilience, leveraging evidence-based practices and a compassionate approach to therapy.

Work Environment

This full-time position will be conducted remotely, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with patients effectively. Our platform promotes collaboration among colleagues while ensuring seamless communication with clients. Your work schedule will primarily be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the flexibility to take on evening hours as required to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth assessments to identify the specific needs and therapeutic goals of patients seeking help with substance use disorders.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
• Facilitate individual counseling sessions that encourage clients to explore their feelings and challenges related to addiction.
• Lead group therapy sessions that provide a supportive environment for individuals to share their experiences and learn from one another.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
• Provide crisis intervention services during emergencies related to substance use, ensuring immediate support and stabilization of clients in distress.
• Educate clients and their families about the nature of addiction, effective strategies for recovery, and available community resources.
• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment plans, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to maintain a high standard of clinical practice.
• Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in the field of substance use treatment to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals grappling with substance use disorders, often facing complex life challenges that impact their recovery journey. Our clientele may include diverse backgrounds and experiences, emphasizing the importance of cultural competency and a non-judgmental perspective in your therapeutic approach.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist) in the state of California.
• A strong foundation in understanding substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented approaches.
• Demonstrated experience in providing both individual and group therapy, specifically within the field of addiction treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, showcasing an empathetic and supportive demeanor.
• Ability to maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality in all interactions.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and relevant therapeutic tools.
• A willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, valuing the contributions of each team member.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working within telehealth settings or a willingness to adapt to remote counseling practices.
• Experience developing and facilitating educational workshops for clients and their families concerning recovery and mental health.
• Participation in community outreach programs focused on addiction awareness and recovery resources.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to USD 130,000, commensurate with experience.
