Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Genesis Mental Health Services, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assessing client needs through initial consultations and ongoing therapeutic sessions.
• Developing personalized treatment plans tailored to individual goals and mental health challenges.
• Conducting teletherapy sessions via secured video conferencing, ensuring a safe and confidential environment for clients.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in our electronic health record system.
• Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to discuss cases and share insights with colleagues.
• Providing guidance and support to clients on coping strategies and mental wellness techniques.
• Collaborating with the billing team to ensure smooth reimbursement processes for services rendered.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will encompass a diverse client base, including individuals of all ages and backgrounds facing a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and life transitions. You will be tasked with fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and respect to facilitate effective treatment and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Hold a full licensure in the state of California as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to ethical practice and professional development.
• Have a dedicated and private space for conducting therapy sessions, compliant with privacy regulations.
• Be self-motivated, adaptive, and comfortable working independently from home.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues alike.

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with experience managing caseloads, as well as dual or multi-state licenses to practice, will have a significant advantage. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

At Genesis Mental Health Services, we value our counselors and provide a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 140,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus of $3,000 for newly hired counselors. Additional benefits include:
