Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and assessments during initial consultations to accurately document each client's history and needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique challenges of individuals, couples, families, and groups to foster effective recovery.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to clients' specific interventions, focusing on their progress through the therapeutic process.
• Regularly monitor and adjust treatment plans based on clients' feedback and progress, ensuring that care remains relevant.
• Collaborate actively with an interdisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create integrated intervention strategies for clients.
• Stay in contact with psychiatrists and other medical professionals regarding client care, especially for those requiring hospitalization.
• Identify and mitigate barriers to recovery, such as behavioral issues or external stressors, to better support client outcomes.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health counselor at Hopedale Psychotherapy Services, you will work with a diverse patient population from Fresno and surrounding areas. Our clients include individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health disorders, representing a variety of cultural backgrounds and life experiences. You will play a critical role in providing culturally competent care and understanding the unique needs of each client, while promoting mental health awareness within the community.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is mandatory for this role.
• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California is required.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• A strong commitment to ethical standards and evidence-based practices in mental health counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a community health setting.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage client documentation effectively.
• Experience in addressing co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse and underlying physical health conditions.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and current developments in psychotherapy.
• A solid understanding of psychopharmacological treatments and their effects on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits
