Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and document client cases from initial consultations through treatment completion, ensuring thorough record-keeping and adherence to ethical standards.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health by utilizing diagnostic interviews, assessments, and evidence-based measures.

• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic modalities that promote healing and personal growth.

• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting interventions as needed to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care coordination.

• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and addressing any urgent mental health needs.

• Identify and address behaviors that hinder recovery, employing therapeutic techniques that empower clients and support their journeys.

• Provide guidance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to manage mental and behavioral health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York state.

• Successful passage of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven track record of experience as a mental health counselor with a strong focus on client-centered care.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation and treatment records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience addressing a spectrum of physical and emotional health conditions, along with an understanding of addiction disorders.

• Acquainted with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Comprehensive knowledge of psychopharmacology and the implications of prescribed medications on client therapy.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas and provide support to clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
