Work Environment

This position is based in an onsite setting, where nurse practitioners engage directly with patients in their neighborhoods through house calls. Our work environment is designed to allow for flexibility and a work-life balance that is essential for both our medical staff and their patients. The work hours are generally Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a predictable schedule that promotes personal well-being and family time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage children's healthcare needs through thorough physical examinations, health assessments, and care planning.
• Deliver immunizations, perform minor therapeutic procedures such as suturing and wound care, and manage infection control protocols.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient management plans, documenting progress and ensuring continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families about health maintenance, growth and development, and chronic condition management.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare providers in the holistic care of pediatric patients, attending regular meetings to discuss cases and refine care approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Vista Medical Center, you will primarily care for patients from birth through young adulthood. Our patient population includes children experiencing a variety of health issues, from routine well-child visits to managing chronic illnesses like asthma and diabetes, as well as dealing with acute infections and common childhood ailments.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is mandatory.
• Possession of an advanced degree in nursing (Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice) and current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pediatric nursing care is required.
• Current certification by a recognized Board such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or similar.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if attending to inpatient settings.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with patients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and navigate a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in concierge medicine or a similar healthcare delivery model is preferred.
• Background in patient education and counseling on lifestyle modifications.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 126,000 to 150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to a robust salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, and relocation assistance for candidates moving to El Paso.
