Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients' mental health, documenting findings comprehensively.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that outline therapeutic goals, interventions, and measurable outcomes tailored to clients' unique needs.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering growth, resilience, and healing.
\n
• Maintain the highest standards of practice while monitoring clients' progress through regular check-ins and adjustments to treatment plans where necessary.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health specialists, medical physicians, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.

• Manage client referrals to appropriate services, ensuring timely access to necessary resources.
\n
• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers to help them understand and manage the complexities of mental health challenges.

• Stay connected with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers involved in clients' care, particularly for those requiring inpatient services.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement proactive strategies to address them.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure in New York as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker – R (LCSW-R).

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven track record as a mental health counselor in various therapeutic settings.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment progress.

• Solid understanding of the interplay between physical health conditions and mental health, along with experience dealing with addiction disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills, demonstrating warmth, compassion, and the ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
