Work Environment

This role is based in a hospital setting that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork. You will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to optimizing patient outcomes. The facility is designed to support a patient-friendly atmosphere, fully equipped with modern tools and technologies that assist in pain management procedures. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnostics for patients suffering from chronic pain, meticulously examining their medical history and current health status.
• Identify appropriate candidates for interventional pain management procedures, collaborating with the medical team to set therapeutic goals.
• Prescribe and manage medications as part of comprehensive treatment plans, ensuring thorough patient education regarding their therapeutic options and expected outcomes.
• Perform complete physical examinations and interpret clinical findings, laboratory tests, and imaging studies to establish diagnoses according to established protocols.
• Formulate, initiate, and adapt patient management strategies based on ongoing assessments, maintaining productive dialogues with attending physicians as necessary.
• Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and addressing any concerns or questions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant in this role will primarily serve patients with chronic pain conditions, such as back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine disorders, and a range of other musculoskeletal issues. You will work closely with individuals who often face significant challenges related to their conditions, emphasizing a holistic approach to care that prioritizes both physical and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is mandatory.
• Current active licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably with a focus on pain management or related fields.
• Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to convey complex medical information in an understandable manner.
• Strong organizational skills, with a commitment to team-based collaborative care and performance-enhanced healthcare delivery.

Preferred Experience

• Prior exposure to musculoskeletal medicine or pain management best practices is highly desirable.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care and manage clinical workflows effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
