Role Description The Legal Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tampa, FL. The Legal Assistant supports attorneys by preparing and organizing legal documents, maintaining case files, and managing scheduling and deadlines. Daily tasks include drafting correspondence, assisting with discovery responses, filing documents with courts and agencies, and coordinating communication with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties. The role also involves general administrative assistance such as managing calendars, organizing meetings, handling incoming calls and mail, and maintaining accurate records and databases. The Legal Assistant collaborates closely with legal team members to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service. Qualifications Strong foundation in law and familiarity with workers’ compensation, employment law, or civil litigation concepts. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and colleagues. Administrative assistance capabilities, including calendar management, file organization (electronic and paper), data entry, and office software proficiency (e.g., MS Office, case management systems). Experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role, demonstrating attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality requirements.
