Work Environment

You will work onsite in a hospital setting where a multidisciplinary team atmosphere prevails. This role is structured around a four-day work week, with ten-hour shifts stretching from Monday to Thursday, allowing our Nurse Practitioners to have extended weekends free from work obligations. The supportive environment fosters collaboration among Nurse Practitioners, medical assistants, laboratory technicians, and doctors, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive care tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner, your daily tasks will include:

• Obtaining thorough patient histories to assess and understand individual pain management needs.
• Conducting detailed physical examinations to evaluate the effectiveness of current treatment plans.
• Ordering and performing both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, which may include physical therapy interventions.
• Formulating diagnostic impressions and implementing targeted treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Monitoring and documenting the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions to guide future patient care.
• Providing counseling and patient education to help individuals manage their pain effectively and adhere to treatment protocols.
• Making appropriate referrals to specialists when necessary, ensuring comprehensive care for complex cases.
• Managing medication refills by authorizing and processing incoming requests through faxes.
• Performing procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and occipital nerve blocks, often utilizing ultrasound guidance.
• Participating in the review of monthly prescription monitoring reports and laboratory/radiology findings.
• Being on call during non-clinic hours on a rotation basis, ensuring continuous patient support and care availability.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily cater to patients experiencing chronic pain, including those suffering from conditions such as arthritis, neuropathy, and chronic back pain. The clinic is focused on providing comprehensive pain management strategies that not only address immediate symptoms but also improve the overall quality of life for our patients through holistic approaches and ongoing support.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies.
• Board certification as a Family and Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• A current and unrestricted DEA license to prescribe medication.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification.
• Strong proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

While one year of experience in pain management is preferred, we are open to considering candidates who are enthusiastic and willing to learn. Compensation and Benefits
