Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite in our hospital, which is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support patient care in pain management and other subspecialties. You will work Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour daily schedule that promotes work-life balance and well-being. Our clinic fosters a collaborative and supportive environment where you will have direct contact with patients, physicians, and other medical staff, ensuring that the best possible care is delivered.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in the Pain Management department, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough medical assessments of patients encountering acute and chronic pain, including obtaining comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and necessary diagnostic evaluations.
• Assessing and managing common health issues within an outpatient setting, ensuring timely referrals for urgent medical attention when required.
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop tailored care programs, where you will prescribe and regulate medications and treatments under physician supervision.
• Monitoring and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory results, including imaging studies and blood work, to inform patient care decisions.
• Maintaining accurate and concise patient records using electronic health record systems, documenting assessments, treatments, and follow-ups while adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
• Educating and counseling patients on health maintenance strategies, emphasizing disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices to improve quality of life.
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate coordinated patient care and community referrals, ensuring comprehensive service delivery.
• Performing therapeutic procedures and monitoring treatment responses while safeguarding patient confidentiality according to established regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves a diverse patient population facing acute and chronic pain challenges. You will work closely with individuals from various backgrounds, including those with complex medical histories, enabling you to apply your skills in evaluating and treating a broad spectrum of health conditions effectively.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program leading to licensure.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience providing patient care as a Physician Assistant in an outpatient setting, demonstrating proficiency in independent care delivery.
• A valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
• Current DEA certification and registration.
• You must obtain and maintain National Physician Assistant Certification within one year of employment.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in a healthcare setting focusing on pain management or a related subspecialty would be advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record systems will also enhance your ability to contribute effectively to our clinical team.

Compensation and Benefits
