Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, utilizing diagnostic assessments to measure muscle, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Supervise and train Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure effective delivery of care and adherence to treatment plans.
• Evaluate patient home environments and provide recommendations to enhance their independence and ability to perform activities of daily living.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy, traction, and functional exercises, while closely monitoring patient progress.
• Document all aspects of patient care, including evaluations, treatment progress, and updates, ensuring thorough clinical records are maintained.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaboratively adjust care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about their treatment plans, using effective communication skills to enhance understanding and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, which may include individuals recovering from surgeries, stroke patients, elderly clients experiencing mobility issues, and anyone requiring rehabilitation for various physical ailments. Your work will directly contribute to improving their functional capabilities and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a preferred Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy role, preferably in acute care or home care settings.
• Current CPR certification, with a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage meaningfully with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation center or home healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for clinical documentation.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards pertaining to physical therapy and patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
