Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, and diagnosing health conditions.
• Collaborate closely with the supervising physician to create and implement individualized treatment plans for surgical patients.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care, providing essential education and support to patients and their families.
• Assist during surgical procedures in the operating room, performing first assist duties as needed and ensuring all protocols are followed.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely medical records, documenting patient interactions and treatment progress.
• Facilitate hospital admissions and discharges, streamlining processes for patient flow and continuity of care.
• Participate in daily rounding, engaging with patients to monitor their recovery and addressing any concerns that arise.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, ensuring that all members are informed and aligned in patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population ranging from children to elderly adults undergoing various surgical procedures. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all patients receive tailored, compassionate care that addresses their unique health challenges, maximizes outcomes, and promotes recovery.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current Board Certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Valid State Licensure as a Physician Assistant in Nevada.
• Active DEA License for prescribing medications.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgical or hospital medicine.
• Experience assisting in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated capability in handling complexity and urgency in various clinical settings.

Compensation and Benefits
