Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to collect pertinent client history, documenting cases from the initial consultation to the end of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health through standardized assessment tools and interviews.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring all treatment objectives are clearly defined.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, fostering a safe environment for self-exploration and healing.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with the client and other healthcare professionals.
\n
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers—to create comprehensive intervention strategies that meet clients’ holistic needs.

• Proactively follow up with clients admitted to hospitals, liaising with involved medical personnel to ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, equipping clients with tools and strategies to manage their challenges effectively.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and addressing mental health challenges, offering resources and guidance as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population, including adolescents, adults, and families from various backgrounds. Our clinic specializes in addressing a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will play a vital role in fostering resilience and empowerment in our clients, enhancing their coping strategies and overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical or community health setting is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, to maintain accurate and efficient client documentation.

• An understanding of addiction disorders, and the interplay between physical and mental health conditions.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities and a genuine ability to connect with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The offered salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, along with a sign-on bonus.
