The Role of Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Safe Place is fully remote, providing flexibility and convenience in your work schedule. You will engage with clients primarily through video conferencing tools, conducting therapy sessions and assessments in a comfortable and confidential virtual setting. This position allows for a collaborative approach to mental health care, where you will work alongside other dedicated professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to client treatment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, documenting each case from the initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health through detailed assessments, utilizing validated tools and questionnaires.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and group therapy settings, ensuring a personalized approach to treatment.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage client participation and promote healing.
\n
• Continuously monitor and assess client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

• Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists and medical professionals to create cohesive intervention strategies, ensuring comprehensive care for clients.
\n
• Provide follow-up support by liaising with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who may be receiving concurrent treatments.

• Recognize and mitigate any behaviors or challenges that may hinder client recovery, utilizing evidence-based techniques and strategies.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing related mental health challenges.

Safe Place Counseling Center serves a wide-ranging client population, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, relationship concerns, and more. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, with a deep understanding of therapeutic methodologies and applications.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly with AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Familiarity with co-occurring diagnoses and evidence-based practices in treating addiction and emotional disorders.
\n
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing for effective interaction with clients and team members.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with a supportive and empathetic nature.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in teletherapy or remote counseling settings is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and current trends in the field of mental health.

• Insight into the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by healthcare providers.

Compensation and Benefits\n
