Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations through virtual consultations, gathering information to create detailed client profiles from the moment treatment begins.

• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, taking into account their mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing diverse therapeutic modalities to foster a supportive atmosphere for open communication.
\n
• Regularly assess client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize outcomes and enhance the counseling experience.
\n
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive client care.

• Maintain accurate records through electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring all documentation remains current and compliant with regulations.
\n
• Consult and provide guidance to family members and caregivers on managing mental health challenges, strengthening the support network for each client.

• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, proactively intervening to promote positive change.
\n
• Stay informed on the latest psychotherapy techniques and approaches, ensuring that clients benefit from the most effective treatment options available.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on a diverse population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups facing various mental health challenges. You'll encounter a range of issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction. By offering tailored interventions and building therapeutic relationships, you'll play a critical role in helping clients achieve their mental health goals and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating proficiency in therapeutic techniques and interventions.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like AVATAR is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience managing clients with co-occurring physical health issues and mental health disorders, particularly addiction.

• Knowledge of best practices as set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
