Headway Behavioral Center is seeking a full-time licensed Mental Health Therapist with a specialization in geriatric care to join our dedicated mental health team. This remote position allows you to deliver quality therapeutic support from the comfort of your own home while making a significant impact on the lives of elderly patients facing mental health challenges.

Work Environment\n

This role is fully remote, utilizing telehealth technology to provide therapy sessions. You will engage with patients through video conferencing, ensuring privacy and convenience. Our team operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. We utilize a variety of electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient information and documentation seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the individual needs and challenges faced by older adults, considering cognitive, physical, and social factors.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that outline specific therapeutic goals and interventions tailored to each patient's situation.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, to treat geriatric psychiatric conditions effectively.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to patient care.

• Offer crisis intervention and support in mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and immediate therapeutic interventions when necessary.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment methodologies, and available community resources that may enhance their care and support systems.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with ethical and legal standards to ensure accountability and quality of care.

• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing valuable insights and receiving feedback to enhance treatment efficacy.

• Stay updated on new research, treatment modalities, and best practices in geriatric psychiatry, ensuring that your methods are current and effective.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on the geriatric population, addressing a wide array of mental health concerns that uniquely affect this age group. This includes managing depression, anxiety disorders, cognitive decline associated with dementia, and the challenges of adjusting to the various life transitions that older adults may encounter. You will play a critical role in fostering resilience and improving the mental wellness of our patients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California is required.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment interventions designed for older adults.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic services to elderly individuals and their families.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, underscored by a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
