Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, focusing particularly on older adults to understand their needs and challenges, which may include cognitive changes and complex psychosocial factors.

• Develop, implement, and continually evaluate individualized treatment plans—utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities—to address concerns such as depression, anxiety, and other geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Provide therapeutic interventions in both individual and family therapy formats, ensuring that care is tailored to the unique situations of patients and their loved ones.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists, primary care physicians, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to create an integrated approach to mental health care.

• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health disorders, therapeutic options, and community resources available for additional support.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient documentation, adhering to legal and ethical requirements while utilizing health information systems effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on older adults, addressing complex emotional and psychological needs that arise from life transitions, medical conditions, and social isolation. You will provide compassionate care and understanding while fostering a safe environment where seniors can express their feelings, gain insights, and develop coping strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is essential.

• Must possess a valid and active license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience post-licensure, preferably in a setting focused on geriatric mental health.

• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions specific to older adults.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing a patient-centered and empathetic approach to care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
