Work Environment\n

As a remote-based counselor, your primary work setting will be our outpatient office, allowing for flexibility in your work-life balance while actively participating in patient care. Your schedule will generally span Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on the evolving needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs of older adults, identifying the presence of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that account for cognitive changes, physical health considerations, and social factors impacting the mental wellness of elderly patients.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions in both individual and family therapy formats, aimed at addressing and alleviating geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work in close collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists, medical professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integration of care across all health aspects.

• Offer crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies to effectively manage acute situations involving elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and relevant community resources.

• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and respect for patient privacy.

• Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations to discuss ongoing treatment approaches and share professional insights.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be primarily working with the geriatric population, including individuals grappling with chronic mental health concerns alongside the aging process. Your expertise in areas such as dementia, late-life depression, anxiety disorders, and adjustment difficulties will be vital in addressing their complex emotional and psychological needs. Fostering trust and building rapport with elderly patients and their families will be crucial for effective treatment and care delivery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution is required.

• Must possess a current and valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies.

• Experience in providing therapy to elderly clients, specifically in individual and family settings.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering an empathetic, patient-centered interaction with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
