Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to understand the unique psychological, emotional, and social needs of elderly patients.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address cognitive impairments, physical health challenges, and social dynamics impacting mental health in older adults.

• Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy, to tackle conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists, to ensure that our patients receive a holistic approach to their healthcare.

• Provide urgent crisis intervention, offering immediate support during mental health emergencies for elderly individuals.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and relevant community resources to empower their understanding and involvement in care.

• Maintain rigorous and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily serves the geriatric population, addressing various mental health conditions unique to older adults. Our focus includes facilitating the management of age-related mental health issues such as major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and cognitive dysfunctions including dementia. You will be pivotal in helping elderly patients navigate their mental health challenges while promoting autonomy and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid state license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health, particularly with an elderly demographic is preferred.
