Full-Time Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapist

Position Overview

West Side Physical Therapy is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Physical Therapist to join our team at our orthopedic outpatient practice located in Norwalk, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping patients regain movement, improve functionality, and enhance their overall quality of life. You will be an integral member of a motivated team composed of two experienced physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA), committed to providing exceptional care to our community.

Work Environment

As a member of our rehabilitation center, you will work onsite in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Our facility is designed to foster teamwork and patient engagement, featuring open treatment spaces, private consultation rooms, and specialized equipment for diverse therapeutic needs. Your work schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for work-life balance while focusing on enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' physical conditions through hands-on examination, case history, and diagnostics to determine individual treatment needs.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans that incorporate a variety of treatment modalities and techniques tailored to each patient's goals.
• Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions, maintaining a patient load of one individual per hour, ensuring dedicated attention and quality care.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and proven interventions to assist patients in minimizing reliance on medications and exploring non-surgical alternatives.
• Instruct patients on exercise routines to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, customizing fitness and wellness programs accordingly.
• Monitor patient progress closely, regularly evaluating treatment outcomes and adjusting care plans as necessary to meet the evolving needs of each patient.
• Document all patient interactions, including assessments, treatment plans, and results, ensuring compliance with EMR standards using software such as WebPT.
• Collaborate with your team and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and optimize patient outcomes.
• Motivate patients throughout their treatment journey, fostering an environment of support and encouragement to enhance their recovery experience.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals seeking rehabilitation after orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal system. We serve a diverse community, including athletes, seniors, and individuals from various walks of life who are dedicated to improving their health and mobility.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of California with no disciplinary actions against it.
• Strong manual therapy skills and a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic interventions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
• Proficiency in developing tailored exercise programs that address specific patient needs and conditions.
• Experience using EMR software, particularly WebPT, to maintain patient records and documentation efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in orthopedic outpatient care settings is highly desirable.
• A background in developing and implementing rehabilitation protocols for various orthopedic conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 125,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
