Practical Solutions Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a remote position, primarily servicing clients from the comfort of their own homes as well as outpatient therapy sessions in our center. This full-time role will involve providing critical therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Pittsburgh and across Pennsylvania, making a meaningful impact in their lives.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions in both remote and outpatient settings, employing evidence-based practices to address the mental and emotional needs of clients.

• Facilitate anger management and skill-building sessions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.
\n
• Support youth and caregivers in improving decision-making and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home.

• Collaborate consistently with multidisciplinary teams, sharing insights and progress to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for children and families.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes, ensuring they are submitted within required timelines.
\n
• Participate in regular meetings, providing valuable recommendations for program improvement and client support strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to work with children aged 3-20 who present with developmental disabilities, intellectual challenges, and associated behavioral concerns. As a bilingual therapist, you will provide culturally responsive care to Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families, enriching their therapeutic experience by bridging language and cultural barriers. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

• Experience in working with families and communities, particularly those with members who have intellectual or developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.
