Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client.
• Utilize evidence-based methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in therapeutic sessions.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment modalities, and effective self-care strategies.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, holistic care.
• Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in mood disorders to continually enhance treatment methods.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs and challenge stigma associated with mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role involves working with individuals struggling with a range of mood disorders. Your clients will encompass various demographics—ranging from young adults managing anxiety to individuals experiencing the complexities of bipolar disorder. Special attention will be given to marginalized populations requiring tailored support, including homeless individuals and survivors of domestic violence.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Exhibit empathy, understanding, and a nonjudgmental approach towards clients’ challenges and experiences.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities are vital to effectively manage a diverse caseload and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in working with clients experiencing mood disorders and related challenges.
• Prior work in community health settings is advantageous.
• Knowledge of additional therapeutic techniques or certifications in addiction counseling is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
