We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our thriving Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Office at Family Health Behavioral Center, located in Simi Valley, California. This full-time role will be conducted remotely through telehealth, allowing you to deliver crucial mental health services to young individuals and their families while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. Work Environment\n

This position is remote, primarily supported through telehealth platforms. You will utilize advanced telecommunication technology to conduct sessions, allowing for effective communication and intervention. Our team adopts a supportive and collaborative culture where various professionals, including psychiatrists and counselors, come together to ensure accessible mental health services for families. Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments, identifying the specific needs and challenges of young patients.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that consider individual developmental stages, family dynamics, and clinical best practices.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to address a variety of mental health concerns.

• Offer family therapy sessions, guiding caregivers on how to build supportive environments conducive to their child's mental health.

• Maintain close collaboration with child psychiatrists and other professionals, ensuring coordinated and holistic care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support in mental health emergencies involving children and adolescents.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources that can provide additional support.

• Keep precise and confidential records in compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

• Stay updated on current research trends and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry to inform clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents experiencing various mental health challenges. You'll be addressing conditions such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, attention deficits, and behavioral issues. Engaging with families will be an essential aspect of your role, fostering understanding and support not just for the young patients but also for the parents or guardians involved in their care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist within California.

• Strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to child and adolescent mental health disorders and therapeutic interventions.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• Proven experience delivering individual and family therapy focused on strategies suitable for young individuals.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to create a rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant digital tools.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
