Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify and evaluate emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges faced by patients and their families.

• Utilize a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapies, to address the diverse needs of students coping with various mental health issues.

• Formulate, develop, and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams and families, ensuring active participation of all stakeholders.

• Facilitate smooth discharge planning by coordinating with consulting physicians, healthcare providers, and educational staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.

• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding coping strategies and resources related to mental health, illness, and adaptation to life circumstances.

• Provide crisis intervention when necessary and support patients and their families during moments of acute distress.
\n
• Serve as an expert resource for other healthcare professionals, sharing insights and training on psychosocial practices and initiatives.

• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure after-hour support for urgent mental health needs.
\n
• Present at educational conferences, sharing expertise on psychosocial oncology practices to advance knowledge in the field.

• Engage with the community through educational outreach, promoting and enhancing available resources for families coping with the effects of cancer on mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Cognitive Psychiatric Center, your primary focus will be on serving a diverse student population, including children and adolescents facing emotional and mental health challenges. Your understanding of the unique dynamics within a school environment will enable you to support students effectively, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, and familial difficulties that impact their educational experience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and unrestricted New Jersey state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Compensation and Benefits\n

The Cognitive Psychiatric Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
