Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work full-time, on-site at our surgical center in Rochester, New York. Our facility is equipped with the latest technology and follows best practices to ensure a safe and effective patient care environment. Your typical work hours will be Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours each week, with a shift starting at 5:00 PM. This role offers a dynamic work atmosphere where teamwork and communication are essential components of effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and meticulously review medical records to evaluate patient health.
• Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to assist in accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions and illnesses, while utilizing established protocols within family medicine.
• Develop personalized treatment plans for chronic and acute conditions, emphasizing patient involvement and adherence.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patients for responses and side effects, making adjustments as necessary to optimize care.
• Maintain accurate, organized patient records and schedules to enhance workflow and facilitate communication among the care team.
• Educate patients and their families on preventative health measures, potential diseases, and available treatment options.
• Oversee and manage the overall health and well-being of patients through ongoing assessments and follow-up care.
• Promote healthy lifestyle practices by providing resources and guidance to patients, fostering a strong commitment to preventive care.
• Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills by staying updated with the latest advancements in primary care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with patients undergoing surgical procedures and those requiring immediate post-operative care. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution is required.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of 2 years of proven clinical experience in a family health clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Specialization or expertise in family medicine is essential.
• Strong foundational knowledge of health and patient care regulations, enhancing patient safety and quality of care.
• Exemplary communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

• Possession of a current DEA number is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 160,000, commensurate with experience.
