Work Environment

The working environment at our surgical center is dynamic and patient-centered. Our scheduled hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, which include comprehensive physical examinations and detailed reviews of medical histories.
• Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests – such as blood tests and imaging studies – to inform treatment decisions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with both chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient reactions to ensure efficacy and safety.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding disease processes, preventive measures, and treatment options to empower them in their health management.
• Participate in daily rounds, discussing patient care with the multidisciplinary team to foster a collaborative approach to treatment.
• Continuously stay informed about the latest advancements in healthcare related to primary care and surgical practices through ongoing education and participation in workshops.
• Maintain organized and precise patient records within our electronic health record system to ensure accurate documentation and continuity of care.
• Promote proactive health practices and preventive care strategies to enhance patient wellbeing.
• Engage actively with team members to ensure a supportive and efficient work environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on a diverse patient population, including individuals undergoing various surgical procedures. Our patient demographic ranges from adolescents to seniors, encompassing a variety of health backgrounds and conditions. The successful Physician Assistant will demonstrate sensitivity and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each patient while providing compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• At least two years of clinical experience in a family health clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Solid understanding of family medicine and primary care principles.
• Strong communication skills to foster effective interactions with patients and their families.
• A commitment to ethical practice and patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Current DEA registration is required for medication prescription.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical settings or with pre- and post-operative care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
