As a remote mental health counselor, you will work independently while being part of a virtual team dedicated to client care. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews and document client cases meticulously from the initial consultation to treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to create effective, tailored intervention plans.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques to promote healing and growth.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
\n
• Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists, physicians, and nurses to develop comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Coordinate with psychiatrists and attending physicians to follow up on clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify and proactively address behavioral challenges that could hinder recovery.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will encompass working with a varied client population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds. You will engage with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other behavioral health issues. Your ability to adapt your therapeutic approach to meet each client's unique needs will be crucial in promoting their recovery and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through clinical documentation and interactions with clients.

• Strong interpersonal skills with an empathic approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in outpatient settings.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to manage client documentation.

• Experience addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions as well as substance use disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong understanding of the impact of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
