Mountain Park Pulmonology PC, located in picturesque Lancaster, New York, is inviting applications for a dedicated Cardiology Nurse Practitioner. This is a full-time onsite position within our innovative Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), where you will play a crucial role in providing specialized cardiac care to our patients. The Nurse Practitioner will benefit from a collaborative work environment and report directly to the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director of the Division of Cardiology.

Work Environment

This clinical position is located in a school facility, facilitating a unique health environment where you will engage with patients in an outpatient setting. Our office is designed to support a collaborative multidisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and administrative staff. There are no on-call duties, weekend shifts, or night hours, promoting a healthy work-life balance with daytime hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cardiologists to manage patient care effectively.
• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and congestive heart failure.
• Provide outpatient electrophysiology services, including consultations for patients with abnormal electrocardiograms and arrhythmias.
• Conduct comprehensive history taking and physical examinations to establish treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens as directed.
• Perform and oversee stress testing procedures as indicated.
• Educate patients and their families on managing cardiac conditions effectively.
• Facilitate referrals to other specialists within the healthcare team when needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will work with a diverse patient population, focusing on outpatient cardiology services. Common patient conditions include various forms of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and arrhythmias. Providing holistic care is imperative, as you will educate and support patients in managing their health, emphasizing shared decision-making and community health improvement.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty area.
• Current, unrestricted NP license to practice in New York.
• Solid understanding of cardiology principles, procedures, and protocols.

Preferred Experience

We welcome both experienced Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates, particularly those with prior clinical experience in cardiology or related environments. Familiarity with cardiac monitoring systems, electronic health records, and best practices in patient education will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
