Position Overview

Mountain Top Cardiology Consultants is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team in East Amherst, New York. This is a full-time position focused on delivering high-quality outpatient care within our Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). You will collaborate with an experienced team of healthcare providers, including Cardiologists and fellow Nurse Practitioners, to enhance patient outcomes through comprehensive cardiac care.

Work Environment

This onsite role is set within a supportive environment that champions teamwork and professional development. You will work a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, without the demands of night shifts or weekends. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Cardiologists and multidisciplinary team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to assess cardiovascular health.
• Manage chronic conditions, including hypertension and hyperlipidemia, through monitoring, medication adjustments, and patient education.
• Provide outpatient Electrophysiology services, including evaluation and management of arrhythmias and device assessments.
• Address acute cardiac conditions such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and transient ischemic attacks with appropriate interventions.
• Administer and interpret stress tests and other diagnostic procedures as necessary and guide patients through the interpretation of results.
• Supervise and consult with Cardiologists on complex cases to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on lifestyle modifications and disease management strategies.
• Facilitate referrals to specialty services when needed, ensuring continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner in our cardiology division, your main focus will be on adult patients grappling with various cardiovascular diseases. These patients range from those with chronic conditions requiring ongoing management to those in urgent need of immediate care. Your ability to communicate effectively and tailor your approach will greatly influence their health trajectories and overall treatment satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current certification.
• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in cardiology, whether in an inpatient or outpatient setting, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electrophysiology procedures and cardiology diagnostic testing.
• A demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits
