Work Environment

You will work onsite at our modern mental health clinic in Syracuse, New York, engaging in a collaborative environment that fosters teamwork. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside psychiatrists, licensed therapists, social workers, and dedicated support staff. Key Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose a variety of mental health disorders, ensuring that patients receive appropriate care tailored to their needs.
• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient feedback, utilizing evidence-based practices to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Prescribing, managing, and monitoring psychotropic medications used by patients, adjusting dosages according to patient response and clinical guidelines to ensure effective treatment.
• Providing psychotherapy and counseling, employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) to support patients on their recovery journeys.
• Collaborating with fellow mental health professionals to coordinate care and enrich treatment approaches, ensuring holistic and integrated mental health services.
• Educating patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and self-care strategies, empowering them to actively participate in their care.
• Monitoring the progress of patients consistently, documenting treatment responses, symptoms, and progress towards established goals in patients' records.
• Conducting regular follow-up appointments to evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjusting care plans as needed, and addressing patient concerns promptly.
• Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings to continuously enhance professional practice and patient care quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse patient population experiencing a range of mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. You will be instrumental in providing care to individuals from various backgrounds, ensuring your treatment is culturally competent and sensitive to the unique needs of each patient.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current license as a Nurse Practitioner. Further certification in Psychiatric Mental Health is essential. A solid understanding of mental health disorders, pharmacology, and therapeutic methodologies is required, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

While all candidates are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with prior experience in a psychiatric care setting or home health services. Experience with electronic health record systems and telehealth services is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
