Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting middle school students with autism and complex learning needs in a dedicated educational setting. This full-time contract position calls for a compassionate, dependable paraprofessional to work closely within the BRIDGES program, providing key support to a female student alongside nursing staff. Ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative team environment and deliver hands-on assistance while upholding the dignity and well-being of every student.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (not pending; must provide upon application)
Experience or enthusiasm for supporting students on the autism spectrum and those with significant learning needs
Comfortable assisting with feeding and toileting as needed, as part of a multidisciplinary support team
Ability to work onsite at a middle school campus and commit to the full schedule
Willingness to complete required state CBC fingerprinting (candidate responsibility for fee)
Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Core Responsibilities:

Provide daily instructional and behavioral support as outlined in student plans
Collaborate closely with teachers, nurses, therapists, and other support staff
Assist with individualized academic, social, and life skills activities
Support daily routines, including feeding and toileting if necessary
Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all
Document observations and share feedback with the educational team
