Business Development Director Overview The Business Development Director will lead strategic initiatives to enhance market presence and strengthen client relationships. Collaborate with firm leadership to align business development efforts with organizational goals. Identify and pursue new project opportunities in alignment with market strategies. Represent the organization at industry events, fostering professional relationships and partnerships. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of venue and project information. Lead and participate in strategic planning initiatives to drive growth and innovation. Ensure effective use of CRM systems to track pipeline activities and outcomes. Provide regular reporting on business development metrics and market trends. Business Development Director Key Responsibilities & Duties Develop and execute strategies to achieve business development objectives and targets. Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and industry collaborators. Coordinate and participate in industry events and sponsorships to enhance visibility. Collaborate with leadership to prioritize pursuits and align efforts with strategic goals. Manage business development activities within an annual budget framework. Track and analyze proposal performance to improve future outcomes. Ensure accurate and consistent use of CRM platforms for pipeline management. Prepare compelling written content for proposals and marketing materials. Business Development Director Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or related roles. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Deltek. Strong understanding of the commercial architecture and design industry. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with strong self-motivation and sound judgment. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
