Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques to address emotional and behavioral issues.

• Engage in therapeutic activities designed to teach anger management, coping skills, and social skills to children, effectively reducing high-risk behaviors.

• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to create a cohesive support network for every child and family.

• Document all required client interactions in a timely manner, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and contribute to comprehensive care plans based on ongoing assessments and family feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be providing therapeutic interventions to children aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities. This includes fostering communication and coping strategies within the family context, emphasizing the importance of a supportive home environment. As an LMFT, your expertise will directly contribute to increasing positive behavioral outcomes and aiding families in navigating their unique challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is required.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client travel.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours from 4-7 p.m., with the potential for weekend sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children and young adults, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.

• Experience in employing positive behavior support strategies in therapy setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
