About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic and hands-on Director of Sales (Head of Sales) to take on a pivotal leadership role with a focus on the Food and CPG industry. This is a builder role with full ownership of revenue and gross margin performance, where the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading a high-performing sales organization, implementing operational discipline, and translating company strategy into scalable execution. The role is highly cross-functional and influential, requiring the standardization of processes, expansion of distribution, and driving the transition from regional to national growth. The Director of Sales will also be tasked with team leadership and development, sales operations and execution, revenue and P&L ownership, key accounts and strategic relationships, market expansion, and leadership with a strong emphasis on organizational impact. Applicants for the Director of Sales position at the company should have a minimum of 8 years' progressive sales leadership experience, with a background in food and beverage, CPG, or grocery strongly preferred. The role demands a proven track record in driving revenue and margin growth, experience in managing regional or national accounts, and a deep understanding of retail, distribution, and trade dynamics. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, with a data-driven decision-making approach, and have experience in building or scaling sales organizations and processes. Familiarity with West Coast markets and experience with ERP systems in the food, HBA, and CPG verticals is also required. The role calls for a transformational leader who can align sales strategy with company objectives, lead change management, and foster a culture of ownership, execution, and continuous improvement.
