Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the geriatric population, incorporating their cognitive, physical, and social needs.

• Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all documentation is timely and accurate.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is the geriatric population, which presents unique challenges in the context of mental health. You will address a range of psychiatric conditions that are prevalent in older adults, such as major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and various dementia-related challenges. A focus on building trust and rapport with patients and their families is essential, as many may experience barriers related to stigma or a lack of understanding about their mental health needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Kansas.

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health therapy, particularly with older adults.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, embodying a patient-centered and empathetic approach.

Compensation and Benefits\n
