Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment goals for clients.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on empowerment and recovery for clients affected by domestic violence, ensuring a tailored approach based on each client’s needs.

• Engage actively in crisis intervention, providing immediate emotional support and practical assistance to clients in distress.

• Maintain meticulous records of client interactions and treatment plans, adhering strictly to ethical standards and ensuring confidentiality.

• Collaborate with clinical supervisors and team members in regular meetings to discuss client progress, treatment strategies, and ongoing support.

• Offer community resources, referrals, and advocacy, guiding clients toward additional support services as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers around serving a diverse client base that primarily includes young women, teenagers, and children impacted by domestic violence. The counselor will utilize various therapeutic modalities, including Play Therapy for younger clients, to therapeutically address trauma and foster resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is mandatory.

• Applicants must hold an active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license to practice in Illinois.

• Strong experience in individual counseling, particularly with adolescents and women in crisis situations, is required.
\n
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including late afternoon hours (3 PM - 8 PM) on at least two evenings per week, with a preference for weekend availability.

• A valid driver’s license is essential as some client sessions may require travel.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing Play Therapy Services will be a significant advantage, showcasing adaptability and a child-centered approach to trauma.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a sign-on bonus, comprehensive health benefits—including dental and vision insurance—and malpractice insurance coverage. Counselors can expect to have a manageable caseload in alignment with their availability and experience, fostering professional satisfaction and effectiveness in service delivery.
