Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will:

• Examine, evaluate, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with functional limitations and orthopedic disabilities.
• Provide expert consultation to our interdisciplinary healthcare team and contribute to a continuum of care that optimizes patient outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive evaluations, integrating patient education and implementing evidence-based therapies, while ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation standards.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and their families regarding progress, treatment changes, and discharge planning.
• Lead community outreach efforts and engage in program development to enhance service offerings and promote physical therapy awareness.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, providing guidance and resources to improve team competency.
• Engage in continuous learning through staff meetings, professional development sessions, and community courses to maintain clinical excellence.
• Document all treatments and submit necessary billing accurately for services rendered, ensuring adherence to the health system's operational protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, surgeries, or injuries. This includes individuals of all ages with varying rehabilitation needs, enabling you to apply your clinical expertise to help restore function and mobility effectively. Your role will also encompass building therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A current state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health records and documentation processes.

Preferred Experience
