Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and provide mental health counseling to individuals in crisis, including arrestees, developing tailored action plans that address their immediate needs.

• Evaluate the necessity for 5150/5585 involuntary detention applications based on established clinical criteria, collaborating closely with law enforcement and emergency response teams.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
\n
• Coordinate case management efforts with third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health and various psychiatric facilities to facilitate seamless patient transitions.
\n
• Offer telehealth-based short-term crisis interventions for non-violent patients experiencing mental health episodes.
\n
• Provide training and resources to law enforcement officers, enhancing their ability to de-escalate crisis situations and respond effectively to individuals facing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals struggling with acute mental health crises, homelessness, and those recently arrested. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving community mental health outcomes and fostering a compassionate approach to treatment in high-stress situations.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Exceptional professionalism and a positive demeanor, particularly when interacting with clients and stakeholders in high-pressure environments.

• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a caseload effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure accurate documentation and effective collaboration.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is preferred.
