Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients by utilizing standardized tests and clinical assessments to establish functional limitations and disabilities.
• Design, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice, ensuring all interventions are tailored to meet patients' needs.
• Continuously assess patient progress throughout the treatment process, ensuring the effectiveness of the treatment plan and making necessary adjustments. Document findings and interventions accurately in both paper and electronic health records.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, progress, and exercises, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Participate in community outreach activities and educational workshops aimed at promoting health and wellness in the Norfolk area.
• Oversee and mentor support staff, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and optimal delivery of care.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Orthoworks, you will primarily be working with a diverse clientele, including athletes recovering from injuries, older adults seeking rehabilitation from surgeries, and individuals affected by chronic pain or neurological conditions. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and the healthcare team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage caseload effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient setting, particularly with orthopedic patients, is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques (e.g., manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation) will be a plus.
