Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use challenges, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their unique circumstances.

• Collaborate closely with clients to create tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions, addressing both mental health and substance use issues concurrently.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on the development of coping mechanisms, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation techniques.

• Work jointly with an interdisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, to coordinate integrated and holistic care.

• Implement regular monitoring of clients’ substance use and apply motivational interviewing techniques to inspire and support their recovery efforts.

• Educate clients and their families on the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of following treatment recommendations.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment interventions, progress, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing training initiatives designed to enhance treatment approaches for co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, particularly in Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Deep understanding of the interaction between mental health issues and substance use disorders.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team environment.
