Work Environment

This position will be fully onsite, with therapists primarily working in clients' homes throughout North Fort Myers and surrounding areas. Our facility is designed to ensure that our team can efficiently deliver care while fostering strong relationships with clients and their families. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care, which is crucial in a home health setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of clients' physical capabilities and limitations through diagnostic assessments, clinical observations, and functional testing.
• Develop individualized therapy plans based on client assessments and physician recommendations, focusing on prevention, pain relief, and restoration of mobility.
• Implement treatment plans that incorporate manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and assistive devices to enhance recovery.
• Oversee and guide physical therapy assistants in executing treatment regimens, ensuring compliance with the established care plans.
• Assess the home environment to provide recommendations that foster safe and efficient rehabilitation.
• Regularly observe and document the client's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and communicating changes with physicians and care teams.
• Engage with clients and their families, educating them on therapy modalities, home exercises, and the proper use of assistive equipment.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist will primarily focus on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting mobility. You will engage with clients ranging from young adults to seniors who seek to regain strength, improve their functional capabilities, and enhance their overall quality of life. Each therapy session will be tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the individual client, with a strong emphasis on promoting independence and facilitating seamless transitions back into daily activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
• Ability to make informed decisions and exhibit professional judgment while delegating tasks where appropriate.
• Demonstrated energy, focus, and dedication to lifelong learning in the field of physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome all applicants, candidates with at least one year of experience in an acute care or home healthcare setting will be preferred. Experience working with orthopedic patients will also be an advantage, as well as familiarity with electronic health record systems and patient care documentation processes.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
