Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial evaluations through preliminary interviews, meticulously documenting all findings and case details from consultation to treatment conclusion.
\n
• Assess and monitor clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to inform effective intervention strategies.
\n
• Develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans encompassing individual, group, and family interventions tailored to client needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and supportive therapy sessions for individuals and small groups, fostering a safe environment for open discussion.
\n
• Continuously evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and implementing additional support measures as applicable.
\n
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
\n
• Coordinate follow-up care with psychiatrists and other medical officers for clients needing hospitalization, ensuring seamless transitions in their care.
\n
• Proactively identify potential behaviors or challenges that may hinder the recovery process and develop strategies to address them.
\n
• Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers, assisting them in navigating the complexities of mental health management.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a mental health counselor, you will engage with clients from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences, addressing issues ranging from relationship dynamics to complex mental health disorders. Our clientele includes individuals, couples, and families seeking support in overcoming their mental health challenges. Your role is crucial in fostering resilience and guiding clients toward healthier mindsets and improved coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
\n
• Successful passage of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients and their families, showcasing exceptional communication skills.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Extensive experience dealing with both mental health issues and co-occurring disorders, including addiction and chronic health conditions.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• A sound understanding of psychotropic medications and their implications, enabling informed discussions with clients regarding treatment options.
\n
• Prior experience in an outpatient setting or collaborative multidisciplinary care is a plus.
